I called up an animal shelter located in the South.  I was curious about a couple of dogs that caught my heart after viewing their photos on a pet finding website.  When I learned that the adult dog had only a few hours left to live and the puppy, only a few days, I had them pulled.  I simply did not wish to live with their deaths on my consciousness.  These dogs were transported to me within three weeks and were highly adoptable, with exceptionally wise and gentle spirits.  I decided that I wanted to do something with my life that would be incredibly difficult for me to do, something that would truly make a difference...  I wanted to save as many innocent lives from the holocaust of the South as possible.
